Pilliga Pottery is where it all begun: The Rickert family bought Barkala back in the early 1980′s, settled in a small cottage and took it on from there. Built a potters workshop , a woodfired kiln and started to produce the unique Pilliga Pottery style of Earthenware. This unique style has remained unsurpassed in design and quality and tens of thousands of hand crafted pieces made out of local clay by local people found their way all over Australia and over sea.
